Milan Aim To Keep Beckham

AC Milan director Umberto Gandini has admitted the club would be "foolish" not to look into the possibility of extending David Beckham's stay in Serie A.

The former England captain has joined the Rossoneri on loan until March when he is due to return to Los Angeles Galaxy for the start of the new Major League Soccer season.

Beckham has continually suggested his stay is only a temporary one, but Milan intend to explore the possibility of keeping the veteran midfielder in Italy beyond his scheduled departure.

"We would be foolish not to look into extending his contract," said Gandini.

"David is a great player and we think he can fit into our game plan and give AC Milan a higher profile.

"What we have is a short-term contract in which he'll play eight to ten games."
